This was my aunt's daily driver before she passed away in 2021. She was the soft grandmotherly type, so it didn't see the kind of driving it was meant for--meaning it's in absolutely fantastic condition, but also it has no upgrades beyond what it came with from the factory. She kept it in the garage and it was well cared for. Maintenance intervals were rigorously kept.
This Mustang is waiting for the right owner to give it the loving attention it deserves. It has been sitting for the last couple of years on my driveway with a car cover on it, with a battery maintainer connected (the kind that sends a pulse charge to break up sulfide deposits). I drive it about three miles every few weeks to keep it exercised. I did go through it mechanically when I got it, replacing a few missing parts (hub caps, ash tray, floor mats) with OEM or better, and doing some basic maintenance: coolant flush, A/C check, tune up, throttle body cleaning, wiper blades, burned out bulbs, fluid top-offs. The door lock solenoids stopped working, so I replaced those, which also led to replacing the window track rubber. The overdrive in the transmission went out shortly after I got it, so I had it rebuilt by the top transmission shop in my area to stock specs, and they replaced the rear main seal as well.
Everything on it works flawlessly except the oil gauge, and the heater, due to a massive leak in the core, which is bypassed. Even the retractable cargo cover still has a strong retraction, with the fabric in nearly new condition. Interior has held up extremely well. The front seats look great and the rear seat barely has any wear on it. Carpets are nearly new-looking. It's got power everything, including cargo hatch release in the glove box. The door locks have an aftermarket remote control. Electric moonroof works perfectly in both directions, including vent. A/C blows cold. Steering pump is as quiet as a Ford pump can get. Engine starts immediately, idles strong, pulls hard, burns no oil, and should pass emissions testing just fine. Rebuilt transmission is flawless. Stock exhaust shows no signs of rot and still has that awesome growl. Paint is excellent throughout, and still has the factory paint codes intact and readable. The stereo head unit is aftermarket from sometime in the 1990s. It's an attractive Fox Body Mustang and in great shape for its age.
